Weekend Recap

Dominic and I headed out on our first camping trip of the season. We're both big believers in "comfort camping," wherein you bring with you as many amenities as you need to be comfortable, so the entire back of the Blazer was filled with various camping supplies. That's not so bad, you say? Well, consider this: we only camped for one night, and we were seriously considering bringing a second cooler. We thought we might be able to whittle our needs down to some barer essentials in a trial by error sort of way, but then we realized halfway through our mini camping extravaganza that we were indeed using everything we brought.

It was a good time.

And because I haven't annoyed the Internet with a picture of Mia in, like, a month, voila!

Does your cat get pissed off if you leave him and go away for the weekend? Ours always used to when I was little; we'd get back on Sunday and his food dish would be full, he'd have all the water he needed, but he would just decide that he wasn't speaking to us for awhile.

Ok, but doesn't the size of the cooler factor into the overall picture of whether or not you're over the top in excessive gear/supplies, etc.? Comfort sounds good to me ...

Well now, I wish it was warm enough to sit in a river and go camping here. But no, it rains EVERY day and if it isn't raining by some miraculous act of God, then it is windy and cold and yuck anyway. Weather in the Ham sucks.

Good news: I got your check today!!! Yay. That will be very helpful in getting these tickets.

The plan: Deposit check tomorrow. Buy tickets Wednesday.

Mia looks like an inscrutable, inchoate Buddha girl.
